I can see that people have had this problem since CarPlay was launched, but I'm not sure if Apple is acknowledging a problem. Music, Spotify, Sirius, Podcasts, et al, all have this problem. The only apps that consistently work, with no black screens, are the nav apps - Apple Maps and Google Maps. Only one tab was working, so I could only look at current shows in my favorites list. I'm using an iPhone X, by the way - fully upgraded to iOS 12, and with all the apps in question updated.Īs an example, I was using the Sirius XM app just fine on one day, then the next, the screen is entirely blank/black - not even any menu graphics and no functionality. Or they won't, then content will appear, then disappear. Why do most of my apps only have a blank/black screens in CarPlay? It's a brand new car, but I can barely use CarPlay because many of the apps won't work.
